Human Design 101: Introduction to Strategy and Authority
KNOWING + USING YOUR STRATEGY AND AUTHORITY IS ESSENTIAL TO YOUR HUMAN DESIGN FOUNDATION - These are the keys 🔑 to unlock your path!
Each energy type has its own strategy and your authority is based on your chart, determined by which energy centers you have defined*.
So, imagine your strategy as the way to filter your environment - it allows you to engage with life in an energy-efficient manner, and then your authority kicks in, alerting you to the correct opportunities.
As a Projector, my strategy is to wait for the invitation - I will get further along if I am patient enough to be invited into the next opportunity. Once the opportunity arises, I use my splenic authority to let me know IN THE NOW if this is correct - whereas an emotional Projector would wait for the invite and then sleep on it to know if the opportunity was correct - and a sacral Generator would respond after checking in with their gut feeling as their internal GPS. These are just a few examples!
YOUR STRATEGY TELLS YOU HOW TO USE YOUR ENERGY WISELY SO THAT YOU INTERACT WITH YOUR ENVIRONMENT WITH THE MOST IMPACT:
MANIFESTORS INITIATE WITH THE WORLD AND GET THE BALL ROLLING
GENERATORS AND MANIFESTING GENERATORS RESPOND TO THEIR ENVIRONMENT
PROJECTORS WAIT FOR THE INVITATION, WAITING TO BE INVITED INTO THE FOLD
REFLECTORS WAIT A LUNAR CYCLE BEFORE THEY MOVE FORWARD WITH THEIR DECISIONS
THE MAIN AUTHORITY TYPES:
EMOTIONAL AUTHORITY: CLARITY COMES OVER TIME - DO YOUR BEST TO NOT MAKE DECISIONS WHEN YOU ARE IN EMOTIONAL HIGHS OR LOWS
SACRAL AUTHORITY: LISTEN TO YOU GUT. YOU KNOW THAT SAYING IF IT’S NOT A HELL YES, IT’S A NO? THIS IS FOR YOU.
SPLENIC AUTHORITY: TRUTH IN THE NOW. THE SPLEEN SPEAKS QUIETLY AND IT TELLS YOU ONCE. IT’S A QUICK HIT OF INTUITION.
HEART (EGO) AUTHORITY: LISTEN TO YOUR HEART! THE SAYING IS YOUR HEART IN IT? THIS DIRECTLY APPLIES TO YOU.
G-CENTER OR SELF-PROJECTED AUTHORITY: AN INNATE INNER KNOWING. IT CAN BE HELPFUL TO TALK IT OUT, FIND A SOUNDING BOARD OR A SAFE SPACE WHERE YOU CAN HEAR YOUR SELF TALK - YOU’LL KNOW IT’S RIGHT WHEN YOUR HEAR YOURSELF SAY IT
(EXCEPTIONS: MENTAL PROJECTORS & REFLECTORS DO NOT HAVE AN INNER AUTHORITY.
MENTAL PROJECTORS HAVE A FIXED MINDSET WHICH IS THEIR GIFT, BUT JUST LIKE SELF-PROJECTED AUTHORITY THEY BENEFIT FROM SPEAKING THEIR THOUGHTS TO FIND THEIR OWN CLARITY
REFLECTORS MAKE DECISIONS USING OUTER AUTHORITY WHICH COMES FROM TRUTH OVERTIME & FOLLOWING THE LUNAR CYCLE)
*There is one exception to the rule - Reflectors all have the same strategy AND authority because they all have outer authority)
If you are learning about Human Design on your own (I love a good DIY) Know that energy type, strategy, and authority are the basics and the most crucial elements to get a hold of for yourself.
The magic of everything in Human Design is that it is actually really simple.
We typically have a hard time believing that, but most things are simple - we just love to complicate them.
My understanding of Human Design is akin to the movie Jiro Dreams of Sushi 🍣 - we spend years washing the rice 🍚 or learning to handle the knife right and once we really mind meld with our tools we can really begin to understand how everything works together.
It’s all an experiment. We are consciousness in a body. We are learning to live in the body - that is strategy + authority. If we can learn to be in harmony - what else do we need?!
